Aminata Kuyateh
Growing up, I always had a passion for helping people, especially the elderly and young. 高中毕业后, I had to go to the police academy because my family could not afford to send me to nursing school, 这非常昂贵. When I relocated to America in 2010, my first job was a dietary aid at a nursing home working with the elderly. My job was to prepare food and help with serving, but sometimes I would go beyond just serving food and help the residents get to their rooms.
Working with the elderly made me think back to when I was a young kid who always liked to help people. I decided that I wanted to become a Certified 护理 Assistant (CNA). 年后, I started pursuing my bachelor’s degree in nursing at Herzing大学, and now here I am a nursing graduate!
I have three friends who also completed Herzing’s nursing program in 亚特兰大, and within three months after graduation they all had jobs. The professors were just great and they were ready to help at all times. The flexible schedules are great, too. Everybody can find a way to make it fit because they have morning and evening course options. 我选择了夜校, which really helped me find a balance between work, 上学，养家糊口.
My advice for others is to just stay focused and be positive. Always do your work on time and study hard. More importantly, learn to prioritize your time.
